About the Pushkar & Ajmer Holi Special

Holi in Pushkar, with the overnight run each way so it costs you one working day. A resort with a pool, a rain dance and DJs through the day and into the night, then the ghats and the Brahma temple once the colour has washed off.

Pushkar has one of the only Brahma temples anywhere, and its lake has 52 ghats around it. Ajmer and the Dargah Sharif are on the way home.

Day by day

01Delhi to Pushkar | Overnight Journey
  • Evening departure from Delhi by tempo traveller or AC bus.
  • Overnight journey towards Pushkar with the group.
02Pushkar | Holi & Local Sightseeing
  • Morning arrival in Pushkar and on to the resort. Freshen up and have breakfast.
  • The Holi celebration: rain dance setup, day DJ, gulal, thandai, jalebi and unlimited snacks.
  • Later: the Jagatpita Brahma Temple, Pushkar Sarovar, the ghats and Sarafa Bazaar.
  • Evening at the resort pool, then dinner and a DJ night.
  • Breakfast and dinner included. Overnight stay at the Pushkar resort.
03Pushkar to Ajmer, then Delhi
  • Breakfast at the resort, then check out.
  • On to Ajmer: the Dargah Sharif and the market around it.
  • Start the return journey to Delhi by tempo traveller or AC bus.
  • Breakfast included. Overnight journey.

  • Morning arrival in Delhi.

What to pack

  • A 40-60L rucksack plus a small daypack
  • Warm layers — thermals, fleece and a windproof jacket (nights stay cold even in summer)
  • Trekking shoes with grip, plus slippers for the stay
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, cap, lip balm and a personal water bottle
  • Power bank, torch and any personal medication
  • Original government photo ID — mandatory at all checkposts
