About the Kerala Tour
Five days from Cochin and back: two nights up in the Munnar tea country, one at Thekkady on the edge of the Periyar reserve, and one on a houseboat in the Alleppey backwaters.
The houseboats are converted kettuvallam rice barges, and the night on board is the part people remember — moored among the coconut palms with the village going about its evening on the bank.
Day by day
01Cochin to Munnar | Through the Western Ghats
- Arrive at Cochin airport or railway station and meet your driver.
- Drive up into the Western Ghats towards Munnar, past waterfalls, tea plantations and the valleys between them.
- Check in at the hotel and rest.
- Dinner included. Overnight stay in Munnar.
02Munnar | Local Sightseeing
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- A full day around Munnar: Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake, the tea gardens and Eravikulam National Park.
- Back to the hotel in the evening.
- Breakfast and dinner included. Overnight stay in Munnar.
03Munnar to Thekkady | Spice Country
- Breakfast, then check out and drive to Thekkady through the spice plantations.
- Check in on arrival, then the local market.
- A spice plantation visit or Periyar boating are optional and at your own cost.
- Breakfast and dinner included. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
04Thekkady to Alleppey | The Houseboat
- Breakfast, then check out and drive down to Alleppey.
- Board the houseboat and cruise the backwaters, through the coconut palms and past the villages along the bank.
- Breakfast and dinner included. Overnight on the Alleppey houseboat.
05Alleppey to Cochin | Departure
- Breakfast, then disembark and drive to Cochin.
- If time allows: Fort Kochi, the Chinese fishing nets and Mattancherry.
- Drop at Cochin airport or railway station.
- Breakfast included. The tour ends.

- A 40-60L rucksack plus a small daypack
