Dubai from India, and what it really costs

8 August 20267 min read

Dubai is the easiest international trip to sell to a first-time flyer and the easiest to under-budget, because three of the costs arrive after you have paid for the package. Here they all are.

What you will actually pay

WhatPer personNotes
Return flights from India₹18,000–₹35,000Direct from most metros. Cheapest in the summer heat, dearest around New Year
UAE tourist visa₹6,500–₹9,00030-day tourist visa. Processing takes a few working days
Four nights, land package₹30,000Our price: hotel, transfers, Burj Khalifa, desert safari with dinner, dhow cruise

Meals beyond breakfast₹1,200–₹3,000 a dayA shawarma is a few hundred rupees. The Dubai Mall is not

The Burj Khalifa ticket question

There are three things sold as "Burj Khalifa" and they are not the same:

Our four-night departure includes the 124th floor in non-prime hours, and says so on the trip page rather than in the small print.

Desert safari: what separates the good from the cheap

Is Abu Dhabi worth the extra day?

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is, on its own, worth the ninety-minute drive. It is the single most impressive building either emirate has, and it is free to enter. Note the dress code: shoulders and knees covered, and a headscarf for women.

The four-night trip is ₹30,000 and keeps a whole day free. The five-night adds Abu Dhabi and private transfers instead of shared, at ₹36,500.

When to go

November to March is the comfortable season and the expensive one. April, May and October are hot but manageable, and noticeably cheaper. June to September reaches the mid-40s and everything worth doing outdoors becomes something you do indoors.

Questions people actually ask

How much does a Dubai trip cost from India?
Roughly ₹60,000 to ₹80,000 per person all-in for four to five nights: ₹18,000 to ₹35,000 for flights, ₹6,500 to ₹9,000 for the visa, a land package from ₹30,000, plus the tourism dirham charged at the hotel.
What is the tourism dirham in Dubai?
A municipality fee charged by the hotel at check-in, per room per night, of roughly ₹350 to ₹600 depending on the hotel category. It is not included in tour packages and is paid directly at the property.
Is the Burj Khalifa sunset ticket worth it?
It costs about double the non-prime slot and sells out well in advance. The view is the same view; you are paying for the hour. Most packages, including ours, include the 124th floor in non-prime hours.
What is the best time to visit Dubai?
November to March for comfortable weather and the highest prices. April, May and October are hot but workable and cheaper. June to September regularly passes 45C.
Do Indians need a visa for Dubai?
Yes. A 30-day UAE tourist visa costs roughly ₹6,500 to ₹9,000 and takes a few working days to process. It is usually not included in package prices.
